Review:
“When I first saw the lake I thought it was just a small pool, it was not until further examination that I discovered it was like the Leeds Liverpool canal, there are 45 pegs right up to the top end which is netted off as the banks are not safe for anglers.. The fishing methods are fairly relaxed but no barbed hooks or cat food. There will be one if not two pegs this year (2011) for disabled anglers. The lake is fed with fresh water which the owner adjusts to keep the lake level to his liking. Fishing is from dawn to dusk and the owner Geoff lives near the lake. Full of most species, some good fish although as yet no giants as the lake is not very old, about 10 years. Take all of your required tackle and bait with you as the nearest tackle shop, Atlantic Tackle, Helston is about 5 miles away....”

Plus Points:
Geoff keeps a good eye on the lake and this would discourage bad behavour from children or adults. All anglers I have met there seem to be very friendly and willing to share their expertise. The wild life is worth seeing with birds of prey flying overhead. I have had a kingfisher land on my rod but only for a millisecond when it realised what it had done.

Could Improve:
The car park has been improved and the only thing I would suggest now required is toilet facilities. Watering the hedge is OK but anything more serious is difficult. I understand this is under consideration. The owner currently charges 5.00 a day, that is too cheap for a dawn to dusk day, think of any other sport and nothing is as cheap as that. Put the prices up Geoff and provide a loo.

Summary:
A truly great day with even the occasional plane or helicopter giving a private display.
