Lake Fished:
Main lake
Tactics Used:
Medium method feeder with Swimstimm groundbait with 3mm green and brown pellets. Big
bunches of redwhite mags work very well as do corn and lmeat. Big boilies and lobs
will bring the odd big cat but daylight hours not the best time. Waggler with red mags
useful for bags of quality roach when big uns go on strike! Use min 8lb line as some
of the carp run big but if you are lucky enough to hook a big cat.retire!!
Review:
“Overall this British Waterways reservoir is one of my favourite places to go carp fishing. Good points include ease of
access from the A14 which runs alongside. Good parking is a definate plus. Top class fishing with
good quality carp stocks, as one has come to expect from the owners . Full marks to British Waterways....”
Plus Points:
Close proximity to where I live is always a plus. I Really like the fact that naseby is a quiet, never crowded
place with a wide variety of different pegs. Water quality is nearly always A1.
Could Improve:
Although the dam wall has been greatly improved I would like to see the pegs brought up
to Boddington Reservoir standards. This area can be awkward to fish due to the slope and it should be
noted that the wall is the only area fishable when the water level is at its highest. Better access to the left bank, and the boat-house bank would also be a bonus.
Summary:
Have had some catches of over 150lbs especially from the pegs around the depth marker in the
middle of the dam wall. I found all areas good, and have had good catches all round really.
Never had any problems there and have found Bailiffs friendly and knowledgeable.
