“I havent been their yet, but ive heard a fair bit about it and im contemplating a visit to broadlands myself.

I know broadlands was taken over by new owners in 2007 and since then it has been stocked with a good head of additional carp which now go 30lb+.

Personally, I would aim to fish near the main island according to some of the reports ive heard, but a quick chat with Steve the owner before you fish would probably be the best bet.

You can check out their website Broadlands Lakes for a bit more info.

Let us know how you get on.”

“ive had a look on there website but cant find much in the way of best bait or rig the only thing that is up is the catch report and what was useded so i could look at that again and work out the main bait that is catching the fish. I will have a chat with steve and get some info on whats what. Im going to use a spod mix with seeds chillie flaks a few boillies abit of cell pellet some sweetcorn oh tuna and hemp so i think that should get the fish grubing around my swin for a bit to grab a bit or to. If i get a fish or three lol ill post them up on the site but dont get your hopes up ive blanked the last three times ive been fishing so the out look dont look good but you never know i might beat my pb if i try..”

“Blanked... tell me about it! Ive started calling it camping rather than fishing!

“I know blanking is part of it but you know what thay say the best things come to those who wait lol ( i think not ). Im not one for doing a bit of spoding but i see most of the top carp anglers on tv doing it and they get loads of fish so its one of this years must do. So this will be the starting point. If you have any thing you think i need in my spod mix let us know and ill stick it in there but the things i cant use are ( peas beans or nuts). my m8 fished it the weekend just gone he had two runs hooked one and lost it at the net the other run he picked the rod up and nothing was there lol and to top it off he was reeling in to go home and hook a pike in the back.”
